Automatic Transfer of Service

The Automatic Transfer of Service Plan offers continuous gas service for any rental units you own or manage. Under the agreement, each time a tenant moves out and asks us to disconnect the service, the meter will be left on, and the bill will be automatically transferred into your name. A final bill will be issued to the outgoing tenant based on an actual meter read, the tenant or landlord read, or an estimated read. You will be held responsible for all gas used from that date forward, until we receive a transfer request from your next tenant.

You will be notified by first-class mail any time service has been transferred into your name. Service will also be transferred into your name if your tenant has service disconnected for non-payment at any time throughout the year. This does not mean you are responsible for paying the tenant's overdue bill; it simply means you will be notified that you will be paying for the gas service until your tenant reinstates their account.
